What is a Graphic Recorder?
Graphic Recorders, also known as Visual Practitioners, use visual methods to assist learning, collaboration, engagement and communication between groups and individuals. You have heard the old saying, “a picture is worth a 1000 words” right? Well, it is so true! The role of the Graphic Recorder is to listen, synthesize and record key words and images generated in various group meetings and/or individual settings. As one of the early pioneers in this field once said, “we help people SEE what they MEAN.”
As a Graphic Recorder, I weave key words and images together to tell a story. This process helps to draw information and energy out of participants. Generally, graphic recording can be done at any time when you need to collaborate, brainstorm and make decisions.
